CALOHEE Advisory Board meeting: discussion of outcomes
Immediately following the final Management Committee meeting of the CALOHEE Extension project the first hybrid meeting took place in Brussels. As the first meeting of the Advisory Board was hosted again by Neth-ER (Netherlands House for Education and Research). The hybrid meeting was attended by the Subject Area Coordinators and the student-representatives of the CALOHEX project as well as a number of European university networks and organisations, which are either partner or associated partner, either physically present or online. At the meeting the initial outcomes of the project were presented for open discussion. The focus was this time on the results of the CALOHEE Extension project. After the project leader offered an overview of outcomes of both the CALOHEE Phase 2 project and the CALOHEE Extension project the coordinators and student-representatives of the six subject areas involved presented the work they had established. They focussed on their qualifications reference frameworks and the matching exercise they had implemented to compare frameworks and present-day degree programmes. The discussion focussed on the need for state-of-the-art reference frameworks, both general and subject area based. The message of the academic fields was very clear: these frameworks are essential for reforming degree programmes to make and/or keep these relevant for the labour market and society at large as well as references for internal and external quality assurance.
